Summer was here

As I was travelling to my office on a shuttle, i started reading the only paper which was within my reach. It was the day's edition of "Young world". It was really a long time since i had read this suppplement. Just out of curiousity i read this and to my pleasant suprise i found it very amusing. More suprising is the fact that i could easily relate to most of the articles.

I was really transported to another world in another time after reading the following lines from this article:
Splashing through large water puddles, watching the world through raindrops on the edges of leaves, chasing frogs in the garden, a sudden darkening of the sky in the middle of a boring Hindi lesson, deafening thunder that drowns out the voice of the teacher in the middle of that awfully complex theorem, hushed giggles, rain-soaked afternoons ... Ahhhhh! school sure can be wonderful!
And this:
The best part of a holiday by the sea is the sand castles you can build — full of tunnels and turrets from which you can launch battles and attacks on the castle your older sister has built.
Please don't miss this fun. Go ahead and start reading 'Young World'. Especially if you are one of those ones who read newspapers the first thing in the morning. I am sure it will do more good in brightening up your day than by reading about what happened to RSS offices and what Arjun Singh is up to these days. ;-)

@Shankar: Yes it sure does. Hi Bud, i am linking to you.
@Sreedhar: You are as enigmatic as usual. :-)
Btw, i almost forgot to express my appreciation for the people who wrote those two wonderful articles: PAROMITA PAIN and SHALINI UMACHANDRAN. I wonder whether they are freelancers or are they children who mailed this article to 'The Hindu'. Maybe the blogosphere can answer....

Guess the Young World is the only bit from Hindu thats worth reading. Other than that, none of the current issues get the focus they deserve. I wrote in my blog on how I switched loyalties from Hindu to the Express. The Express does a better analysis of issues, but these days the events around us are soo disturbing that I avoid reading Express too:)
